Nathan Kreitzer

Nathan Kreitzer is the Director of Choral and Vocal Activities at Santa Barbara City College, where he teaches Group and Applied Voice, and leads the Quire of Voyces, Chamber Singers, and College Choir. He is also the Director of Music at First United Methodist Church, and Choir Director at Temple B’nai Brith. Nathan began his music career singing in the church, and he later studied voice and conducting at California State University, Fresno, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance. He went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting from the University of California at Irvine, and he has studied with renowned conductors Gary Unruh, John Alexander, Richard Messenger, and Robert Page. Kreitzer has toured internationally with the Quire of Voyces and the SBCC Choirs. He has directed invitational choral festivals in Santa Barbara, acted as clinician and directed choral workshops. Past clinicians with the ensembles have included Peter Phillips, Vance George, Eric Whitacre and David Skinner. As a professional vocalist, he has appeared with the Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra, Ventura Master Chorale, Pacific Chorale of Orange County, Irvine Camerata, and Oregon Bach Festival Singers directed by Helmuth Rilling. He has created a choral series in his name at Santa Barbara Music Publishing, and regularly commissions new works from composers. Nathan resides with his family in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley.
